Hi, I'm Celeste
My pronouns are they/she. I'm a clinical psychologist working in occupied Powhatan land now known as Richmond, VA.
I completed my PsyD and postdoctoral fellowship at The Professional Psychology Program at GWU. My clinical experience includes a variety of settings, including community mental health, a hospital setting, college counseling centers and group private practice. I also have experience teaching and supervising master’s and doctoral-level therapists-in-training.
I was trained psychodynamically. This means I believe exploring your early life experiences is a crucial part of understanding how you develop patterns of relating to self and others. I work relationally, meaning that I believe our relationship really matters; those patterns will show up in our own work together and can be used to better understand you and experiment with new ways of being. Lastly, I work from an intersectional and anti-racist feminist framework; naming the role society plays in your concerns is a critical part of the work!
I’m a queer woman; this informs my focus on providing affirming care to LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples/relationships. I am particularly passionate about working with gender and sexual identity development and helping all kinds of relationships/couples build strong foundations of communication and closeness. I am poly-informed and have completed a certificate in integrative psychoanalytic couple therapy from the The Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute & The Institute for Clinical Social Work, and an externship in LGBTQ+ Emotionally-Focused Couple Therapy from the International Center for Excellence in Emotionally-Focused Therapy.

When I’m not working, odds are I’m out appreciating nature’s fractals.
